PRF Announces Recipients of International Travel Grant to Head of the Charles Regatta

PRESS RELEASE: For immediate release

Para Rowing Foundation is thrilled to support para rowers from Australia, Great Britain,

South Africa and the Netherlands as they compete in the HOCR. PRF’s International Travel Grant for HOCR 2023 assists para rowers with expenses related to attending the regatta, freeing them to concentrate on their racing. The recipients of this year’s grant are Kathryn Ross of Australia, Sophie Brown of Great Britain, Dieter Rosslee of South Africa and Corné de Koning of Netherlands. All will compete in the 3-mile head race in the Inclusion Doubles event on the afternoon of October 21. Kathryn, Sophie and Corné are PR2 rowers and will compete with trunk and arms only. Dieter is a PR3 rower. PR3 athletes utilize their legs, trunk and arms to race, having a disability that decreases their ability to propel the boat. PRF is a Boston-based nonprofit working globally to promote inclusivity in rowing by expanding global opportunities and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Opportunity and accessibility are global issues so PRF supports para rowers affiliated with any club or nation.
