Volunteer Digital Strategy Intern for Para Rowing Foundation

 

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Duration: Six months (with possibility of extension)

Time commitment: Flexible, approx. 2-3 hours per week

About Para Rowing Foundation:

  • Para Rowing Foundation is committed to promoting and empowering athletes with disabilities in the world of rowing.

  • We provide support, advocacy, and opportunities for para rowers, striving to make a positive impact both within the rowing community and beyond.

  • We are looking for a passionate and innovative volunteer Digital Strategy Intern to help rework our digital presence – by improving our website, enhancing our social media engagement, and helping pull together core digital metrics.

 

Role Overview:

  • As a Digital Strategy Intern with Para Rowing Foundation, you will work closely with the Chief Communications Officer/Board Directors and optimize our website, develop new content ideas, and support the execution of social media strategies.

  • You will gain valuable hands-on experience in digital marketing, web management, and creative strategy development within a growing non-profit organization.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Website strategy & improvement: Collaborate on the reworking and redesigning of the Para Rowing Foundation website, ensuring it is user-friendly, informative, and visually appealing. 

  • Digital advancement: 

    • Assist in optimising our CRM system (PRF uses Bloomerang), improving data organisation, reporting and workflows to strengthen stakeholder relationships. 

    • Support the centralisation of PRF’s SharePoint site, ensuring it becomes a well-structured and user-friendly hub for documents and resources.   

  • Content creation & development: Contribute to the development of engaging digital content, including blog posts, articles, and multimedia pieces that align with our mission and future planned initiatives e.g. corporate partnership program.

  • Social media management: Assist with managing and growing our social media presence across various platforms (Instagram and LinkedIn), including content scheduling, analytics tracking, and community engagement ideas.

  • Brainstorming & idea development: Contribute fresh, creative ideas to improve online engagement and build connections with both current and potential supporters.

  • Digital Analytics: Monitor and report on the performance of digital campaigns, using data to inform future content and strategies.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A passion for para sports, inclusivity, and empowering athletes with disabilities.

  • Strong interest in digital marketing, web strategy, and social media management. Understanding of the non-profit sector would be beneficial.

  • Basic knowledge of web platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix) and content management systems is a plus.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn).

  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh ideas.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
