How Does PRF Engage?

PRF listens to and collaborates with para athletes in developing responses to identified challenges. PRF acts alongside para athletes meaning individuals at all levels are supported with a full spectrum of practical assistance so they can focus on development and performance.

Listening has led to PRF providing:

  • grant opportunities

  • equipment donations

  • training opportunities specifically for para athletes

  • PRF’s Adaptive Equipment Loan Closet

  • working with regattas and boathouses to increase accessibility

  • engagement with a Clinical Sports Psychologist

Collaborating with a variety of professionals, PRF is positioned to connect athletes with a larger network of experts to enhance their rowing goals.

PRF takes a multi-disciplined, whole-person approach. In action, this looks like engaging with:

  • Para rowing coaches

  • Clinical Sports Psychologists

  • Physical Therapists

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Massage Therapists

  • Prosthetists

  • Nurses

  • Accessibility to experts

  • Equipment fabricators

Developing responses on an individual level, PRF offers personalized approaches for each para athlete.

Some examples are:

  • individualized para athlete intakes

  • enhanced adaptation of specialized equipment based on rower input

  • researching and promoting para rowing opportunities

  • creating the opportunity to try out  para rowing equipment as a loan

PRF always seeks new ways to empower people with impairments to become the best athlete they can be through rowing. If you have a suggestion or question, PRF would love to hear from you. Please click HERE to share your thoughts.
